New London Media Brings Student Reporters Into the Newsroom
An independent newsroom's new Campus Desk lets college writers publish editor-reviewed stories under their own byline and reach readers far beyond their campus.
Published
Student journalists have a new place to publish. New London Media, the independent global newsroom, has opened a Campus Desk that lets college and university writers file stories under their own byline, reviewed by editors and distributed worldwide.
The move targets a long-standing gap. Campus papers carry only a handful of slots, and much student reporting never leaves the classroom. The Campus Desk removes that limit: approved Campus Reporters publish press releases, news, and articles, each with its own search-built page and an author profile that grows with every story.
What they cover is the ground they know best, the stories on their own campuses, from research and athletics to student life, culture, and the local news major outlets skip.
Becoming a reporter is simple. Students apply, an editor reviews each application, and approved writers carry the Campus Reporter title. Their work runs under the newsroom's U.S. desk and is shared across search and social.
New London Media says the Campus Desk is open to students across the country now. Details and the application are at the links below.
